Some providers use pooled (unallocated) storage, where your holding is a claim on a shared pool of metal rather than specific, identifiable bars or coins. Imperial Vaults uses segregated storage: the bars and coins you bring in are the exact ones you get back, kept physically separate from other clients’ holdings in your own space within the vault.
That distinction matters most if a provider ever runs into financial difficulty — segregated holdings are clearly yours, not a creditor claim against a shared pool. It’s one of the first questions worth asking any storage provider, including us.
Moving Existing Bullion Into Storage
You don’t need to have bought your gold or silver through Imperial Vaults to store it with us.
